Getting within 100km of Santiago

I have got past Sarria which itself is just over 100 km from Santiago so that is around 700 km done. OK, I accept it is taking me longer to type up my journal notes than it took me to walk the camino.

Camino Francés

A lot of planing and preparation went into my camino and some of it even turned out to be useful. I made mistakes along the way. I spent much time learning language skills though I learnt the wrong language. I walked many miles in training then bought new boots two weeks before departure. I allowed thirty-eight days and then completed the main camino walk in twenty-four days. The start of my Camino Francés nearly went wrong as my first instinct was to turn left - not right - as I left the pilgrim office. Luckily a sign on the door guided me and future signs guided me for the full five hundred miles and beyond. Click  here  for the story as far as Sarria.
